"Children
who actively sing and play an instrument are involved in a "high"
experience . . . They learn to focus, listen and hear all necessary
ingredients to prepare children for other educational disciplines as
well as music . . . Without the immediate attention to the neglect of
live music programs, we face the gradual erosion of our children's ability
to discern, to respond, to build and to joyously participate in cultural
activities of the next century"
